A STRONG PERSONALITY
It is in Neuville-aux-Larris, in the heart of the Marne Valley, that the history of Maison Lasseaux unfolds, with the grandmother of Baptiste and Vincent, Claire Simone Geoffroy.
Born in 1922, she is the daughter of Octave Geoffroy, owner of about thirty ares of vineyards in Belval and Cuchery. During visits to her sister, Claire, who prefers to be called by her second name, Simone, meets a certain Jean-Louis Lasseaux, better known as Jean. The bonds form with the young man whose parents are farmers in Vézilly. So naturally, Simone and Jean decide in 1949 to unite their destinies there.
The Lasseaux family grows with the birth of 4 children, including Philippe in 1956.
Simultaneously with taking up his position at the wire-drawing mill in Festigny, Jean initiates the creation of the cooperative 'L'Entraide'. As the name suggests, it aims to respond to the need for mutual assistance that exists in the village, both in terms of pressing and fermentation.
From 36 ares in 1955, the vineyard gradually increases to 65 ares in 1965, before reaching 2.15 hectares in 1977. The same year marks an important turning point in the brand's future: the commercialization of Champagne Jean Lasseaux.
PASSING ON AND HONORING THE BATON
Son of Jean-Louis, Philippe is in the front row to witness the rise of the family business. Trained at the Agricultural and Viticultural CFA of Châtillon-sur-Marne, he gains experience alongside his father as a family helper. After working in transportation and delivery, he decides to refocus on his primary passion, the vineyards. His meeting with his wife Annick in 1976 is crucial in this regard. When Philippe Lasseaux joins his father in the business, they together plant a plot of Pinot Noir, and starting from 1980, Meunier.
Born in 1981, the Philippe Lasseaux brand has to coexist with that of Jean Lasseaux until 1995.
Over the years, Philippe's vineyard expands to a total of 1.70 hectares in 1986. Thanks to word of mouth, the distribution network grows with exclusive sales of Brut and Demi-Sec, especially in Paris. Philippe's role as a cooperative administrator does not prevent him from selling a bit outside. In 1991, a pressing house is added to the equipment on the property. A quest for autonomy that completes the disgorging and riddling already carried out on-site.

VINCENT AND BAPTISTE. VINCENT, THE COMMUNICATOR (Left)
The eldest of the siblings, Vincent was born on February 14, 1981. After completing his schooling in Reims and Edinburgh, this construction enthusiast turned civil engineering into his profession. Oriented towards transportation logistics and urban traffic, Vincent also handles the brand's export development and its presence on social networks.
BAPTISTE, THE MAN OF THE LAND (Right)
Born on June 2, 1987, Baptiste has always been more passionate about the vineyards than school. After working for a few years with colleagues, he joins the operation part-time and then full-time in 2015. Diligent in his work, he manages both vineyard and cellar work, assisted by an employee as well as his father and uncle in the bottling process.
CHAMPAGNE LASSEAUX & FILS
Becoming Champagne Lasseaux & Fils in 2010, the brand's transformation also occurs in terms of presentation, from the cork to the label. Today, their territory extends over 6 and a half hectares, including 1.70 hectares under contract. Over the years, the vineyard has grown through leasing and especially the purchase of certain previously leased plots, often through candle auctions. Embodied by the Lasseaux brothers, the 3rd generation continues the work started by their predecessors.
The resilient mindset that characterized their ancestors, Baptiste and Vincent inherit today. They are aware of the need to go off the beaten path to better rejoin the circuit and stay in the competition. They aim to excel in advocating for a terroir and preserving a know-how that contributes to the excellence of French heritage.
