José Michel Grand vintage 2014
José Michel Grand Vintage 2014
Extra brut, Bottled May 2015, Disgorged July 2022
Grand Vintage is José Michel’s traditional vintage cuvée, made only in years that balance purity, structure, and aging potential. The 2014 edition is built on Meunier and Chardonnay the two pillars of the estate’s vineyards in and around Moussy.
The fruit was harvested from old vines and vinified in stainless steel, then bottled in spring 2015. After more than 7 years of lees aging, it was disgorged in July 2022 with a dosage of 4 g/L. Only 3,000 bottles were made.
2014 was a cooler, more classical vintage in Champagne, and it brings a different energy to the wine. Expect a tauter profile of bright citrus, green apple, and fresh herbs alongside fine structure, subtle toast, and mineral clarity. Time on the lees adds depth without dulling the freshness.
A refined and focused vintage Champagne that speaks clearly of both the year and the house style: understated, precise, and built to evolve.
